Yep, this is the first and probably the only DVD i'll buy

It isn't that good... I mean, don't get me wrong... i'm happy they finally released the sucker to North America... but... comeon! is there a need to leave out the Last Order OVA?? and to change the trailer/perview for hte derge of cerebus game... i loved that gackt song, and the images included while listening to that song was superb and exciting... it totally matched the song... but alas, they didn't include.... they replaced it w/ anotehr trailer/preview that didn't include the song

There was no mini booklet in the dvd package...... just a small sllip advertising for other movies and such...:( kinda disappointed, i mean, i thought they were suppose to include little gifts in these things....

the 2 cd's had the same cd cover art...same picture for both disk...let down..i was hoping they'd have diff picture for each disk...

the art for the root menu... not that good... though teh controls were easy to navigate and tehre were tons of subtitle options...

All in all, i would keep this DVD and such, but i'd say the Japanese release was a better deal...

Oh, i'm happy they translated the special for ff7 game, where they just recapped the gmae itself...it was nice...

cloud's english voice was kinda..scruffy..and rough...not as youthful and 'handsome' sounding as the japanese versoin... most of the other voices werre ok.... they matched pretty well i'd say... but meh, i'd still perfer the japanees voices.... just cuz cloud sounds soo much cuter in that version :P hehehehe

The 2nd disk includes all the trailers for AC that they showed.. and it's subbed, whihc was nice.... and it showed hte traiers for the other games, like before crisis... and the new one they were gonna put out later next yr or sth... the one featuring zack...  trailers were mostly in jap, one of hte AC ones had english, which was really sucky.. hahaha...

Well, finally going to see the silent hill movie tonite... gonna watch teh 10:30 showing.... maybe even the 7:30 one..depending on when dinner ends... hehe, but probably the 10:30 one :( and then wait like a hr or two after dinner for it to start :P

Going with Yvonne and Harry... tried to drag Draino.. but unfortunately he has a exam.... and he's broke, so i'd rather him save money to see 'thank you for smoking' with jessie and the rest later...

One more exam to go, friday 7pm, the last time for the last exam of the whole exam period...what crappy luck...or maybe it's lucky... cuz i havn't read anything for this sucker... well, i read a few pages... like maybe 10 in total so far :P hahaah, like 4 days and only 10 pages.... been procrastinating lately.... and watching anime...

Just coldn't help it, i think i did well in the 314 exam.... enough to pass..hopefuly

I still need like 60% in this one to pass... :( i did sooooo bad on the midterm :(..stupid midterm...grrrrrr it's all MC..and it was super hard.... she didn't need to scale at all to bring down mark.... grrrr yep, i need 60% .... just to get 50% total..gah, this suxs.... stupid MC... i sooo hate it now... like hell i konw this one line in the text book of 250 pages that we're suppose to read...grrrr, and they got tons of.. if X is to Y what is A to B... i hate those...grrrrr Sigh, hopefully i won't fail.... if i do, it'd be the first class :(.... and that would suck... and i'd really have to do a full course load next yr... even if i'm gonna take a full summer.... which isn't what i planned... if my plan works out well, i'd only do like 4 first term and maybe 5 in the second... which is lucky first term :P we'll see.... there's also that darn Jap 400 lvl i need to take... grrrrr and there's only like 20 slots in that class...so sept... cross fingers...cuz if i do't get that class... i won't get my 2nd major.... and i'd only be like 6 crd off if it didn't work out..which would suck ass!!!!

Now, almost time to get ready for movie movie.... yvonne's picking me up at 5:30..yahhhhh scored a ride... hehehe

God, i'm so angry... now i'm sitting in asian studies class... and thus, i have time to think about what happened today.. stuipd jon came into the sus lounge and just..decide to fling his wet umbrella around... at me first so i go the majority of the ickyness...

I mean, geesh, i'm beside my labtop that has a giant fan on the side where water can get through and fry the new labtop.... so i yell at him and ask him wtf he's doing he then goes to fling more water and such...totally ignoring the yelling of both me nad the others at sus... which is jessie and draino...

He doesn't care, saying its water.... yah, i care, it's dirty water... i know how ppl put their umbrellas on the floor..so ewwwww!! So i tell him this, saying the water is drty cuz i don't knwo where the umbrella's bin, so he says 'ya, in ur ass' i'm like...grrrr wtf, i'm not even 'that' angry and yelling that loud, just a stern voice and sound annoyed... but geesh now i'm super mad,..... and let's not forget the labtop is like..rihgt infront of me... ready to get wet at his next attack... grrr so angry now that i'm thinking back about it, not that i wasn't angry before when it happened.

Never gonna forget this...nor forgive him enough to burn FF7AC that he wnated... which he bitched about..saying how everytime he's here ready to get the avi file i'm gonna leave soon.. well, not my fault i have class.. i was there at 1:30pm, he had like 2 hrs to find me... and lets' not forget that he wants me to split the file, which requires extra work...grrrr so not gonna do it for him now, nor am i gonna lend him the DVD when it comes out in April 25th, which i'm sooo gonna get!

Woah, haven't updated in a while... well, exams and all that BS..hehe

Hum, waht to mention first. Well, a bunch of us went to celebrate Draino's B-day last week, on the 11th... his b-day is actually the 12 or 13 or something...

He got a bunch of gifts ... etc..heheh yes, lazy.... We went to dim sum... then i left cuz i had a Midterm the following monday, but them and the rest of the group went to his house to play DDR and then dinner at cactus club... i wish i'd gone

Other news: I got my new labtop, yes, i know what you're thinking...'another one?' well, the last one broke..and had to be sent back to HK to repair :( I know, stupid eh... sigh... well, the new one suxs ass... it's TOSHIBA SATELLITE M40 or something... I hate the keys, they suck, the 'del' key is like at the bottom, and they only got one CTRL key on the left hand side, and there are 2 alt keys... one on both sides, but the one on the right is where CTRL should be... so it's confusing and annoys me like crazy..... let's not forget to mention that the keys are somewhat smaller than regular keyboards... it's not that small, but small enough for mistakes to happen every so often... you won't notice unless youre using for a while... cuz by looking, it looks regular... but when u use to type... tha'ts a diff story....
and lets not forget that Toshiba has a bunch of dumbass programs that are required to run.... sooooo stupid!!!! I hate it.... and it's huge and super heavy. It doesnt fit on the desks in the buch building at all... fortuantely the bottom is flat, so it sits mostly teetering off the edge... like about 2/3 can fit on the table... then the other 1/3 is hovering...

I"m hoping to get my old one back... parents are threatening...eh, i mean hopping to come in april..yes, during exams... great isn't it...

But they can go s$rew themselves if they think they're getting their room (now my room) during their stay if they come then, i got 2 papers worth like 50% for 2 classes... and not to mention the finals are then too.... so they ain't kicking me out...this is the only room (besdies sister's) that got internet... and my computer is kinda..stuck here (labtop don't count, cuz this toshiba one suxs)

Gah, toshiba's Bluetooth (internal) doesn't even work, it keeps asking me to install it..everytime i restart... so annoying, i've given up on that... and just hope for my old one w/ the functioning bluetooth (external) works, and has normal regular keys...

god, i hate the new labtop... Toshiba satellite M40, you suck!

Still got to get the darn warnantee.. all the good ones i can' get cuz i needed to get w/in 30days of purchase...grrrrr only crapy 'soso' ones left... grrr do later...

Yep, Valentines day... another year... another awful day where I do nothing and such... but not this year... this year, me Jessie and Draino went out

First we did Dim Sum... very full afterwards, it was this cheap place... very nice... wanted to try the fried silver fish, oh well, next time :P

I met up with Jessie at the bus stop, then draino showed as we were walking to the resturant... Jessie was latish... Draino even later... but not as long a wait as usually is when we go out :P so smaller groups are nicer

Then, Karaoke... We decided on Do Re Mi, it was cheap, all you can sing for 7 bucks... We were early by 30 mins, so we walked around the mall...commenting on what clothes would look nice on jessie... I did this because I would never fit in those outfits, Draino did this because he couldn't wear them unless he cross dressed which i'm sure he's very very very reluctant to do

Then, at 3 we karaoke till 8. There weren't that many songs I liked... but it was ok, i didn't feel like singing today... I was very off key :P There was this super cool music video jessie sang to...very pretty.... I like that group now... if ony for their videos... hehehe :P

Then, Felicos for dinner. It was good...so full, Jessie treated us to kalamari... i thought we were gonna split the bill for that dish... so I ate a fare helping of it... but now that I didn't pay, i feel kinda bad :P hehehe

I got chicken (breaded) with cream of mushroom sauce on top, jessie and draino got icky lamb... roasted i think.. lamb...ew...

Then, we went for Gelato ice cream... I got chocolate orange with Coffee crisp, Draino got nutella and white chocolate, jessie got raspberry and grapefruit... I offered both flavours for sampling to them... I wasn't that sure I should have so much sugar today... I gave the last bit to Draino, he finished his very fast....

Then, we decided to leave, jessie was worried sh'ed miss the last bus..so we left at 10:30

We originally wanted to leave her at the funeral home bus stop..a bus stop infront of a funeral home...to freak her out  instead of hte one infront of the CD store... hehehehe she was freaked.....

so when we found out the bus didn't come for at least 15mins, we went to hte next one that is infront of a mall...she liked that better. There we talked a bit... until the bus came, and then Jessie left, I walked to the corner w/ Draino, where then his mom came... Draino offered to drop me off...but it was rediculiously close...so i walked... But it was nice of him... hehe :P His mom turned the corner totally missing him...hehe it wasw funny to see him phone his mom and tell her that he was passed by...

Then, walked home... bath, and all the usual stuff...and now, i must do homework... 2 Midterms next week... CLST 204 on monday, and PSYCH 314 tues, then a paper for ASIA 310B on wed due, and some questions for 15% due thursday... very busy week next week :( gah, i don't wanna write the ASIA essay... so blah! but better than MT... i can't complain.

It appears Jessie's gonna grad soon... next year like me i think... but she can do less classes than me...:( gah, i still go to go do Grad Check... so annoying... Stuipd electives..i'm missing a few... gah, i had it all charted out before before my labtop died on me... yes.. NEVER BUY HP COMPAQ computers... they suck ass!! not even a year and it's dead... and it killed all info on it... sigh... so sad...

Now, must..'work' heheheehhe here, work= procrastinating

Feenie's Restaurant

This one was easy to get to, but the food wasn't to my liking. Dont' get me wrong, the food is good, it's just not my kind of food...

appitizer

Truffle scented white bean ravioli with roasted garlic beurre blanc, rosemary oil, and crispy bacon.

Mine's. This was good. Filled with beans... eh, not that special.. kinda like porogies... very like it in fact.... but edible... I'd have to agree, the bacon was crispy.

Steamed mussels, with leeks, fennel, tomatoes and chilis

This one was good. It's my sister's :(. The sauce afterwards was good for dipping bread.. which they ONLY gave us 2 baskets... they stopped providing after the 2nd one :(. The seafood tasted fresh... and it slid off the shell easily. But the whole thing just tasted like tomato sauce...

MAIN

Pan seared mission trout, with wild rice, cauliflower pureee and caper-raisin brown butter sauce

This is mine's. The trout was perfectly done. The skin, crispy. The fish was juicy and just right... it was very good... but alas, not filling. The cauliflour pureee was mixed into the few specks of wild rice that it basically was one item, a very delicous item, but small small item. The brown butter sauce was DISGUSTING!! even my sister agreed w/ me on this one, the sauce was very bad.

Braised lamb shank with roasted butternut squash risotto and caramel pearl onions

Jessica's. Me no like lamb, and this tasted very much like lamb. The risotto very creamy, but the rice was undercooked and thus, made it cruchy where it's not suppose to be...

dessert

Chocolate cherry bread pudding with kirsch chantilly cream

It's ok. bread pudding isn't my thing.... the cream was good :P the bread portion of the bread pudding was ok, not too sweet, and can barely taste the chocolate flavour... but when you get to the cherry filling... bad!! The syrup you see is chocolate... rich and yummmmm....

Trio of sorbets-blood orange, mango and pineapple

This is my siste'rs... so i only got a bit. The mango is the only good one. the ohter 2 were sour... the biscotti on the side was good... yum...

All in all, this place is pretty good, if you like the style of food there... just not filling... but a easy resturant to get to... service was fast... around a 2 hr-ish dinner, in at 6:46ish, out by 8:15ish.

Cannery Seafood Restaurant

First, I'd have to say it's a PAIN IN THE ASS to get to. We had to hike down to the place... If you drove, it'd still be annoying because you had to do a weird out of the way circle to get to this isolated pier placed resturant.

Appetizers

Roasted Parsnip & Fennel Soup with smoked Queen Charlotte sable fish

Well, I thought it didn't taste that good. It had a weird fennel taste... edible, but... I don't like.

Ahi Tuna Carpaccio accented with mild paprika, lemon gelee, chili oil and avocado salsa

Well, this one is my sister's. It's ok, I don't usually eat raw stuff... the tuna had a chared edge to it, so...semi cooked... it was.. chewey and tasted very tuna like...

Grilled Wild BC Salmon over oyster mushrooms & sweet baby shrimp, in a scallion basil cream sauce

Ah, this one's mine. It was very dry samon! VERY DRY!! the cream was good, there were a few pieces of shrimp which was good... the mashed potatoes...delicious... best so far of all the mashed potatoes eaten...Peas shoots good (3pieces), Eggplant... good (1 slice)

Grilled Swordfish Filet brushed with arugula & almond pesto and chipotle pepper sauce

This is my sister's. It was very though and dry fish... Same side dishes, veggies..same...

Orange Cheesecake over Coffee Crust served with a semi sweet chocolate sauce

Eh, I don't like cheesecake, but it sounded nice... Orange cheesecake... I gave most of it to my sister. But if you like cheese cake, it was very creamy, a hint of orange, but not overpowering orange. The coffee crust didn't taste like coffee, more like had the oreo crushed cookie kinda thing... the semi sweet chocolate sauce was already congealed by the time i got to it.... so not that good...

Thai Mango Sorbet paired with fresh exotic fruit & a coconut brandy snap

This is my sister's. It was good, really fruity. The coconut snap wasn't that good... too sweet, like eating a giant chunk of sugar.

All in all, i'd say this wasn't that good.. the main course was dry... The bread was good, but the 2nd serving was cold... and the lobster oil... very nice... it actually tasted like lobseter... but the service was slow, and so was the providing of bread, we got the bread 1/2 way through appetizers. And only 3 slices of bread per basket...

Oh, my sister also got a drink, a cannery sunset... weird drink, but pretty when taken picture of :P

Al Porto Ristorante

Yep, i also got pictures tooo! But using geocities so ther is a viewing limit :( If you guys konw of a better server... one that doesn't require me to install a FTP program and is web based, then... plz tell me... I got a few more of these dinners.. hehe pictures are a must.

We were originally going to go to ONE RESTURANT. But they were closed down.. couldn't pay rent or some crap liek that... so we wandered around and saw this place... and went in for dinner...

Appitizers

 Tuscan Parfait with carrot and cranberry chutneys.

This is my appitizer. but my sister's fork. It was SUPER bad... I saw that lot of other ppl ordered it, but no one was able to finish... hehe. My sister packed it up for her friend... who is said to 'like' this kind of...food (and i use this term loosely)

Beef Tenderloin Carpaccio with organic mixed greens & grana padano shavings.

sisters. And again, sister's fork :P This one is RAW beef...ewww, it stuck to the plate like crazy, she was scrapping it of...whahha the white stuff is some kind of cheese...

Main Course

Cornish Game Hen stuffed with wild mushrooms & finished with a chianti sauce. (a wine sauce)

This is mine's. very delicious, but ordinarry.. not as exotic as i would hope for... and again, portions are small, but not as small as last week's. The wine sauce was very good... but the hen was a little dry, the veggies were crisp and yummy. Mash potatoes, tasted good.

Mixed Seafood Grill wild BC salmon, halibut, scallops & tiger prawn with a sweet red pepper coulis & pesto sauce.

Sister's food... seafood... the halibut was dry. The only flavourful and delicious and NOT dry seafood on her plate was the samon and prawn. But this was again, very small portions... but not as small as last weeks again... but small...

Dessert

Chocolate Ganache Torte accompanied with vanilla sauce

Mine's. DELICIOUS!!! it was great!!! the white sauce is white chocolate sauce. The filling is chocolate Ganache, soft and rich and chocolately. There is a thin layer of chocolate covering.. ok, but can't really taste the chocolate layer. The bottom had 'oreo' like cookie crust... very good, but a very thin layer. The strawberry, gave to sister :P. The caramel drops weren't needed and didn't match with the chocolate texture, made it too sweet, so the milder white chocolate sauce was a better match.

 Bread Pudding fresh fruit with creme anglais & caramel sauce

This is my sister's. DISGUSTING!! my sister didn't finish it...she forced herself to finish half then just coudln't bare to. It tasted like mushy bread with raisin taste. Very bad in my opinion, i perfer my wonderful cake like thingie instead :P

2 more to go before sister's B-day. One more next Saturday and then on thursday on 2nd (her actual b-day). Sister is going w/ friend to another tmr :( w/out me...booooo pizza for me tmr i guess....

Quattro on Fourth

Well, it was ok. Jess wanted to try it. so tada, we went... it is near her B-day and all that crap..so she's picking some activities for us to do... and we never...NEVER do stuff like this..so we're going to a few apparently... And let's consider the fact that we never went anywhere for our b-days before... since they always corespond with school midterms, so, we're making up for missed ... missed celebrations :P. And I didn't spend the 200 grandma sent for christmas... which went to grocery money when we forgot to go to bank that time... so i hope that'll make it ok...

Woah, i saw the menu, it was like 20+ dollars for main course..and that was just pastas and stuff... woah! good thing we're doing this now... when it's tourism special... hehe cheaper than usual..yahhh

The appitizer
I got "Granchio Limonata Crab and rock shrimp cake with a peperoncino and lime aioli" while jessica got "Rucola e Carciofi braised Italian artichoke hearts stuffed with mozzarella, served with cherry tomatoes, local arugula and tossed with a herb succo".

Mine's was ok, i got it w/out the mayo lime sauce... so it was good, if it had the sauce i'd be ewwwwwww. Jess's..tasted like cheese... lots of cheese.

Main Course
I got "Medaglioni di Vitelo porcini dusted roasted veal tenderloin medallions with a morel mushroom and cognac cream" and Jess got lamb braised in red wine sauce...

it was super small!!! very small... not filling at all, the mashed potatoes tasted like soft butter which i don't like, no potato taste at all. The vegetables; peas (2 stalks) crunchy and chewy, carrots (1 baby carrot)... ok. the mixed veggies(small spoon fill) was sourish, but it was in a tomato base, but it was very over cooked and mushy.

The beef melted in your mouth, but only 2 small small slices...

All in all, main course not filling, so me and jessica just ate 4 helpings of the bread basket :P

Desert: we got one of each, since there were only 2. Tiramisu, it was ok, very rich and creamy, but very few lady fingers. Chocolate shavings lacking, only small sprinkle on top. Jess's cherry thing ...cherry sauce sour and didn't mix well when you ate it with the sweet cream and toasted philo pastery.

Next week, no idea, jess hasn't told me where... but it'll be a surpise, and i'll try to remember to take pictures w/ my cell phone... I forgot this week :(
